In January, SIRCULAR Project took another step forward with a focused online training session on intellectual property (IP) management and patenting, delivered by our Irish partner Inlecom Commercial Pathways (ICP).

Building on the foundational webinars hosted by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, this session, the first of three, provided an in-depth exploration of IP management strategies . Inlecom shared their expertise to establish a common understanding of intellectual property rights (IPR) offering insights into the role of intellectual property within the SIRCULAR Project.

The training covered essential aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR), starting with what’s required in EU projects and SIRCULAR in particular, then going into a little more detail to understand patenting. We learnt more about utility and design patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets and the specifics of patentability, also covering anticipatory patents. SIRCULAR partners are now familiar with Inlecom’s overarching IPR methodology and know how effective IP management can enhance the commercialisation potential of our project outcomes.

Innovations across four regional clusters

SIRCULAR partners are testing and demonstrating innovative technologies and services across four regional clusters: in Estonia, Spain, Germany, and Greece. The knowledge gained from this training session will help us to transform our innovations into impactful market-ready products and services. This commitment to robust IP management will support the long-term success and sustainability of the SIRCULAR Project’s innovations.
