On 27-28 May 2026, SIRCULAR project partners gathered in Barcelona for their 4th General Assembly, hosted by the Catalonia Institute of Construction Technology (ITeC). The meeting brought together the consortium to share updates across all work packages and to advance a common vision for the project through productive discussions and interactive workshops.

The first day focused on both completed and ongoing work. Partners presented recent achievements and explored opportunities for closer collaboration. Interactive sessions helped identify synergies between tasks, strengthening the project’s coordinated approach to advancing circularity and decarbonisation in the built environment.

Beyond the formal agenda, participants also had the opportunity to experience the city. The group visited the exhibition “The City as a Resource” at Centre Cultural La Farinera del Clot, curated by Recursos Urbans. The exhibition showcased how materials from demolished buildings can be recovered and reintegrated into new construction, an approach central to SIRCULAR’s objectives. Partners also joined a guided walking tour of Barcelona, UNESCO World Capital of Architecture 2026, including a dinner at beautiful Palau de la Música Catalana.

The second day centred on the development of SIRCULAR’s digital tools and the progress achieved on the SIRCULAR marketplace. These exchanges allowed the consortium to further refine its technical direction and define the next implementation steps.

A big thank you to the ITeC team for your excellent organisation and warm hospitality!

With renewed motivation and a shared vision, the partners now move into the third year of the project, continuing their joint efforts to advance sustainable and circular solutions in the construction sector.
