GNE’s role is crucial in developing innovative contractual relationships for sustainable construction and renovation. Leading Task 5.4, GNE will design non-standard contracts and procurement approaches to support innovation and performance-based contracting. Collaborating with WP3 and WP4, GNE will establish schemes that enable the implementation of new technologies, integrating lessons from WP4 to ensure smooth execution. Their responsibilities include analyzing the value chain to map stakeholders, contractual relationships, and risks. GNE will identify schemes that reduce perceived risks in innovative projects and develop four performance-based contracts with measurable outcomes, promoting a “building as a service” approach. GNE’s expertise and understanding of the four pilot projects are essential for tailoring these contracts to each pilot, ensuring they align with project objectives and facilitate sustainable solutions in the built environment.
